Personal Statement:

I love learning about individuals through the lens of occupation. It is humbling, gratifying, and exciting to help those in need discover meaningful activities that promote healing and overall wellness.

I’ve spent more than 15 years as a practicing occupational therapist in pediatrics, spanning a wide variety of settings including clinics, homes, and schools. My passion stems from the rewarding challenges of working with families with children on the autism spectrum, with sensory processing disorder, and international adoptees.

I’ve volunteered in several international settings, including orphanages, transitional living centers, and adult institutions, which unfortunately often lack resources for healthy engagement in daily life. Traveling to places such as Romania and Ethiopia, I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with dedicated staff and encourage families often isolated in rural and remote areas.

Here in the U.S., I’ve also participated in wellness projects, including a collaboration with The Walters Art Museum in Baltimore, Maryland to develop the first “Sensory Friendly Morning” in 2010 which continues today, and a “First Ladies in Fitness” group for seniors in an assisted living facility in Pomona, California.

When I’m not talking OT, I’m playing with my three kids, traveling with family, hiking, and enjoying nature, photography, and yoga.
