Our community work in aging initiatives include work with the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.co.orange.nc.us\/154\/Aging\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Orange County Department on Aging<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"https:\/\/jacksoncenter.info\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Marian Cheek Jackson Center<\/a>.\u00a0Our work with children includes initiatives at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/teacch.com\/regional-centers\/chapel-hill-teacch-center\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TEACCH Autism Program<\/a> and at the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cidd.unc.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities. <\/a>Our faculty occupational therapy practice work occurs at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/healthsciences\/ocsci\/university-occupational-therapy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">University Occupational Therapy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">The\u00a0<u><a class=\"ProsemirrorEditor-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/healthsciences\/cpl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Community Practice Lab<\/a><\/u>\u00a0partners with community organizations focused on housing, aging, and community engagement to develop programs that mobilize occupation for positive community change.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Students in occupational science and occupational therapy are engaged in the community in ways that span medical, educational, and human service models.
