Jessica Cassidy and Louise Thoma, both assistant professors in the Division of Physical Therapy, have received Junior Faculty Development Awards from the University. The awards are internal fellowships that provide support for a professional or scholarly project.
Cassidy, a well-known researcher in the area of stroke whose laboratory focuses on developing neuroimaging-based biomarkers to advance stroke rehabilitation practice, will use the funds for continued research.
Thoma, who joined the faculty in 2019, will use the funds to research the experience with and perceived value of standardized intervention documentation for physical therapists.
Cassidy, PT, DPT, PhD, leads the Cassidy Plasticity Lab. Thoma, PT, DPT, PhD, completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Delaware. The Division of Physical Therapy is housed in the Department of Allied Health Sciences.
