SUMMARY:Improving Programs through MTSS: Leveraging OT and PT
DESCRIPTION:Also offered during Summer Institutes 2022\, the purpose of this course is to clarify how OT and PT practitioners are uniquely equipped to practically and effectively contribute to school improvement through MTSS. We will explore evidence to support OT/PT involvement\, including legislation\, professional foundational documents\, and evidence-based practices in the areas of physical health\, student engagement\, mental health\, UDL\, written expression\, and more. Participants will examine how current and future practices align with the 6 Critical Components and 4 Essential Elements of NC MTSS. School teams are encouraged to attend with an MTSS Coordinator\, OT/PT Practitioners\, other related service providers\, educators\, and/or administrators. Individual representatives are also welcome if an interprofessional school team is not available to attend the session.
