DESCRIPTION:Fall 2018 Statewide Meeting of Related Services Representatives  \nNC Department of Public Instruction’s related services consultants are pleased to announce the Fall 2018 meeting of LEA representative practitioners from each discipline on Monday\, October 29\, 2018\, at UNC Greensboro\, Elliott Center\, 507 Stirling St.\, Greensboro\, NC 27412. School Nursing representatives will not meet on Oct. 29\, but rather participate in Fall meetings which are scheduled regionally and announced through LEA school nursing staff and administrators. \nAll meetings will begin at 9:00 a.m. and conclude at 4:00 p.m. with a one-hour break for lunch. \nParticipants will need to bring their lunch or dine at one of the nearby area restaurants. Parking is available in the Oakland Parking Deck on the corner of Forest St. and Spring Garden St. \nEach LEA and Charter School in NC is encouraged to send ONE (1) representative\, which may include contracted personnel\, from each discipline. LEAs and Charters are also encouraged to utilize PRC 118 funding to support participation at this meeting and travel costs. DESCRIPTION:IEP Development for Adapted Physical Education – Cost: $25.00\nOffered on Monday\, July 23\, 2018\, from 9am to 4pm at UNC Greensboro Elliott Center.\nThis session will provide: \n\nEvaluation for APE eligibility with a focus on what data is needed.\nDeveloping a detailed\, data-rich Present Level of Academic and Functional Performance\nDrafting student IEP goals\nDocumenting service delivery on the IEP (as well as the potential continuum of service) and planning for progress monitoring\n\nIt will be a full day but ample time will be allocated to discussion\, questions and answers. Please submit your questions with your registration. If all requirements are successfully completed\, participation in this professional learning results in .6 CEUs. \nPhysical Therapy Roundtable – Cost: $25.00\nOffered on Wednesday\, July 25\, 2018\, from 9am to 12pm at UNC Greensboro Elliott Center.\nWe will explore recent evidence studies and work together to translate that knowledge into our practice. Updates will be provided regarding DPI Initiatives\, Medicaid developments and any other pertinent topics will be discussed. Any school-based physical therapists or physical therapist assistants are cordially invited to attend this session. Course content will cover a wide variety of topics\, as directed by participants (include topics and issues with your registration) which may include but is not limited to: school-based evaluation\, IEP development\, intervention\, data-based practice/progress monitoring\, policy\, ethics\, and documentation. We will spend as much time as required to answer all questions and discuss key issues in our practice. If all requirements are successfully completed\, participation in this professional learning results in .3 CEUs. \n  \nAn Overview of School-based Practice for Related Service Providers – Cost: $25.00\n\n\nOffered on Wednesday\, July 25\, 2018\, from 9am to 4pm at UNC Greensboro Elliott Center. \n\nCurrent related service providers\, new graduates\, contracted providers\, experienced therapists transitioning to work in public schools for the first time\, and therapy/school psychology students considering employment in school-based practice (e.g. School Psychologists\, OTs\, PTs\, SLPs) are encouraged to attend this one-day (6 contact hours; .6 \nCEU) workshop. Course content will cover a wide variety of topics\, including but not limited to: school-based evaluation\, intervention\, policy\, ethics\, scheduling/workload\, and documentation.
