CSDCAS is an application service that simplifies the process of applying to communication sciences and disorders\/speech-language pathology programs. CSDCAS will verify your application for accuracy, calculate your GPA, and send your application to as many communication science programs you wish to designate who utilize this service.<\/p>\n<p>Applications open on Friday, August 15, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<h3>Application Information<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>All applications receive careful consideration by our admissions committee. After review of applications, offers of admission will be extended no later than March 15.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants will have until April 15 to inform us of their decision to attend, if admitted. After April 15, admitted applicants who have not accepted the offer of admissions and paid a deposit may have the<span id=\"selectionBoundary_1688666644332_5054622024534292\" class=\"rangySelectionBoundary\"><\/span>\u00a0admissions offer rescinded.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>\u00a0Important Information- Preparing to Apply<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Plan to apply early. Submitting your materials early helps ensure timely processing and avoids costly delays.<\/li>\n<li>Create a personal email account (gmail, yahoo, etc.) that includes some part of your name.<\/li>\n<li>Applying for admission is a two-step process and applications are submitted within two different systems: Carefully read through all of the instructions before you begin each application. The ONLY correct way to access the UNC Supplemental Application is through a link in the email that will be sent to you after the CSDCAS application closes. <strong>Please do not begin the UNC Supplemental Application without an invitation email.<\/strong> If you try to do this, &#8220;Doctor of Philosophy&#8221; will be the only program choice available, which is INCORRECT.<strong>\u00a0Students that have made this error will need to submit a new application once they have received the link.\u00a0 We will not refund or waive any application fees due to the volume of activity in the system.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Deadlines and Important Update<\/h3>\n<div class = \"alert alert-warning  oscitas-bootstrap-container\"> Deadline #1: December 16, 2025 &#8211; CSDCAS Application<\/div>\n<div class = \"alert alert-warning  oscitas-bootstrap-container\"> Deadline #2: January 13, 2026 &#8211; UNC Supplemental Application<\/div>\n<div class = \"alert alert-warning  oscitas-bootstrap-container\"> Update: GRE Test: Our graduate program will not be requiring the GRE for the upcoming application cycle.<\/div>\n<div role=\"tablist\" class=\"panel-group yourcustomclass oscitas-bootstrap-container\" id=\"unc-accordion-0\">\n<div class=\"panel panel-default oscitas-bootstrap-container\">\n\n    <div id=\"panel-heading-details-0-0\" class=\"panel-heading oscitas-bootstrap-container\" role=\"tab\">\n\n        <h4 class=\"panel-title oscitas-bootstrap-container\">\n\n            <button class=\"accordion-toggle oscitas-bootstrap-container collapsed\" \n                id = \"button-details-0-0\"\n                data-toggle=\"collapse\"\n                data-parent=\"#unc-accordion-0\"    \n                aria-controls=\"#details-0-0\"  \n                aria-expanded=\"false\" \n                href=\"#details-0-0\">\n                CSDCAS Application Instructions            <\/button>\n\n        <\/h4>\n\n    <\/div>\n\n    <div id=\"details-0-0\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse  oscitas-bootstrap-container\">\n\n        <div class=\"panel-body oscitas-bootstrap-container\"> The <a href=\"https:\/\/csdcas.liaisoncas.com\/applicant-ux\/#\/login\">CSDCAS Application<\/a> opens August 15, 2025. Please read over all application instructions and other <a href=\"https:\/\/portal.csdcas.org\/csdcasHelpPages\/instructions-and-faq\/\">CSDCAS FAQ&#8217;s<\/a> before beginning. Students are responsible for checking the status of their application and making sure that ALL materials are received and verified on time. Your application must be considered COMPLETE by the deadline, December 16, 2025 (11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time) A complete CSDCAS application consists of the submission of the actual application, official transcripts received and payment made ($131.00 for one program and $52 for each additional program.) <strong>Recommendation letters may continue to be submitted after the deadline passes, until the last day of December.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The admissions committee will nominate applicants for Merit Award funding from the Graduate School. All applicants will be considered for this funding. No additional application is needed, and there is no early deadline is required for consideration.<\/p>\n<p>It can take up to four weeks for CSDCAS to verify transcripts, so be sure to request official transcripts well in advance. Since you do not need to submit your fall grades, it is recommended that you send your transcripts when you begin your application.\u00a0 You must list your schools in the \u201cColleges and Universities Attended\u201d section of your CSDCAS application before requesting any transcripts. <strong>Do not list courses that you will be taking in the future and are not currently registered for. <\/strong>There is space for you to list these courses.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Submit official transcripts from EVERY institution that you have taken coursework (even if only one course was taken there).<\/li>\n<li>Grades MUST appear on your university transcript for all courses that you have taken,<\/li>\n<li>If Grades do not appear for your Study Abroad or High School Community College experience OR for Transfer credits from another institution, you MUST submit an additional transcript for each of them. If your Study Abroad GRADES appear on your university transcript, you will NOT need an additional transcript from the foreign university.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Use the transcript request form to have all official transcripts sent to CSDCAS. You should then print the CSDCAS Official Transcript Request Form (the blue button found under each school listed) and send that to your registrar\u2019s office to include with your transcript when it is mailed to CSDCAS.\u00a0 If your school sends electronic transcripts THERE IS NO NEED for an additional paper copy.<\/p>\n<p>\u2666<strong>Please note that using the CSDCAS transcript entering service (PTE) may slow down the process if they are not received several weeks before the deadline.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Please direct the Office of Registrars to send your transcripts to the following address:<\/p>\n<p>CSDCAS Verification Department<br \/>\nP.O. Box 9113<br \/>\nWatertown, MA, 02471<\/p>\n<p>(All official transcripts MUST be sent to the CSDCAS address above.)<\/p>\n<p>If your school only accepts online transcript requests, please include the word \u201cCSDCAS\u201d and your CSDCAS ID NUMBER in the address you wish to have the transcript sent to. There is NO NEED for an additional paper copy. The electronic version is sufficient.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/portal.csdcas.org\/csdcasHelpPages\/instructions-and-faq\/transcripts\/index.html\">More information about transcripts. Please read the section on Study Abroad courses carefully.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ATTN: <strong>International Students please request\u00a0Foreign Transcript Service (Ex. WES) as soon as you begin your application if required.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4>Letters of Recommendation<\/h4>\n<p>Choose three people to write your letters of recommendation who can best attest to your academic or clinical potential. It is important to identify at least two academic references who know you well and are able to speak with detailed examples to the personal qualities that make you unique. if you have been out of school for a while, it will be helpful to develop relationships with professors in your prerequisite classes and help them to know as much about you as possible. <strong>Recommendation letters may be submitted until the last day of December.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4>Essay Questions<\/h4>\n<p>You will be asked to complete 5 essay questions on the CSDCAS application. Answers should be no more than 300 words (2000 characters) each.<\/p>\n<h4>Important Details<\/h4>\n<p>Within your application, be\u00a0sure to complete all applicable parts of the supporting information section.<\/p>\n<p>Once your application is e-submitted, your application is\u00a0locked\u00a0and most sections cannot be updated for the remainder of the application cycle. Please make sure\u00a0all of\u00a0your information is accurate. This process can take up to 48 hours or more. If you have not received this email by December 27, 2025 please email <a href=\"mailto:kayla_rankin@med.unc.edu\">kayla_rankin@med.unc.edu<\/a>. <em>Check your spam and junk mail folders first<\/em>. The ONLY CORRECT way to access the UNC Supplemental Application is through a link in the email that will be sent to you after the CSDCAS application closes. You will have approximately ten days to fill out this application.<\/p>\n<p>You <strong>will only<\/strong> need to provide the following in your supplemental application:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A List of institutions you have attended<\/li>\n<li>Answers to residency and honor code questions<\/li>\n<li>Payment of the supplemental fee of $95.00 (Visa, Mastercard, check or money order) <strong>There may be a delay from the time you try to submit and the link to provide payment. If this appears to be happening upon clicking the submit button, please return to your application later in the day and the link should appear.
