Funds typically pay for a student stipend, health insurance, in-state tuition, and travel. Out-of-state tuition is typically covered by the department and Graduate School.<\/p>\n<h4>Graduate School One-Year Merit Fellowships<\/h4>\n<p>The Graduate School each year provides merit-based, one-year fellowships for doctoral students. All students who apply for admission are eligible and each department nominates their top candidates. The division will contact you if you are nominated for such an award. The awards cover an $20,000 stipend, in-state and out-of-state tuition, and health insurance. The Graduate School will notify you if you are awarded one of the fellowships.<\/p>\n<h4>Graduate School Five-Year Fellowships<\/h4>\n<p>The Graduate School each year provides for a small number of five-year fellowships for doctoral students. All students who apply for admission are eligible and each department nominates their top candidates. The division will contact you if you are \u00a0nominated for such an award. The awards cover $24,000 in stipend, in-state and out-of-state tuition, $2,000 in travel funds, and health insurance. The Graduate School will notify you if you are awarded one of the fellowships.<\/p>\n<h4>Additional Funding Opportunities<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sertoma.org\">Sertoma International Scholarships:<\/a>\u00a0Local Meridian Sertoma Club $1,000 Scholarship for rising second-year student in SLP or AuD.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/sertoma.org\">Sertoma Communicative Disorders Scholarship Program<\/a>: $2,500 scholarships.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ashfoundation.org\/apply\/#Scholarships\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ASHA Foundation Scholarships<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncshla.org\/content\/student-achievement-award\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NCSHLA Student Educational Achievement Award<\/a> &#8211; Given to student members of the North Carolina Speech, Hearing, and Language Association.
