They are eligible and encouraged to enroll in SPHS 510: Introduction to Communication Sciences and Disorders.<\/li>\n<li>All other applicants must be enrolled at UNC and have a declared Major to apply for the Minor in Speech and Hearing Sciences. Overall GPA must be at least 3.0.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Deadlines<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Fall Minor Application Deadline: October 1<\/li>\n<li>Spring Minor Application Deadline: March 1<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Application<\/h3>\n<p>The application requires the following information:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>GPA (minimum 3.0)<\/li>\n<li>GPA in Major<\/li>\n<li>Grades for any courses already completed in Speech and Hearing Sciences<\/li>\n<li>Brief statement (2000 characters or less) explaining why you are interested in completing a Minor in Speech and Hearing Sciences<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a class=\"btn btn-primary btn-lg  oscitas-bootstrap-container\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/unc.az1.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_aVrHj1oJsZl4nwF\">Application for Admission<\/a>\n<h3>Course Requirements<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The\u00a0Minor\u00a0requires all five courses listed in the Recommended Course Sequence table below.<\/li>\n<li>Introduction to Communication Sciences and Disorders (SPHS 510) should be taken early in the sequence. (Students who completed SPHS 583 prior to Spring 2024 may use SPHS 583 in lieu of SPHS 510 to meet SPHS Minor requirements)<\/li>\n<li>Speech Science (SPHS 540) should be taken late in the sequence.<\/li>\n<li>Additional courses are required for graduate study in speech-language pathology and audiology.
