Clinical Assistant Professor

Chileatha Wynn, DMSc, MPAS, PA-C has more than 15 years of experience as a PA working in urgent care and emergency settings. She currently serves as Director of Clinical Education for the Division of Physician Assistant Studies and as a Clinical Preceptor at WakeMed Hospital’s Urgent Care center in Raleigh. Chileatha has had rotating roles among high volume WakeMed Hospitals and University Hospitals Health Systems facilities throughout the course of her career.

Her resume includes Physician Assistant roles at the Cleveland Clinic, Triangle-area family medicine and urgent care facilities and WakeMed Hospital. Chileatha is passionate about continuing education and is considered a valued leader among her peers and colleagues – she was named Campbell Preceptor of the Year for WakeMed Campus in 2019. Additionally, Chileatha is interested in supporting community projects geared toward youth, and has served as a panelist for Girl Scouts of America and has presented to inner-city after school programs regarding health-related topics.

Chileatha looks forward to continuing her career at UNC because the PA program’s mission aligns with her desire to improve PA matriculation for non-traditional students. She brings a mix of both inpatient and outpatient clinical experience to the PA program and will continue to practice clinically in Urgent Care.

In her free time Chileatha enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 children. They travel and attend sporting events as often as possible.
