Director of Evaluation and Assessment, Clinical Assistant Professor
Jason Hrdina, EdD, MPAS, MPH, EM PA-C, is a physician assistant in emergency medicine at UNC Hospitals. He joined our PA program as the director of clinical education and clinical assistant professor in 2018.
He started his medical career as a combat medic in the Air Force 18 years ago and subsequently attended and graduated from the University of New Mexico Physician Assistant Program. After 18 years on active duty in the military, he has recently transferred over to the Army Reserves. He has worked in multiple specialties while in the military to include primary care, aerospace medicine, forward surgical teams and emergency medicine. He has held multiple leadership positions while in the military, to include being the Officer in Charge (OIC) of the Fast Track at Womack Army Medicine Center Emergency Room.
He has been an active member of NCAPA for three years and has held a position on the education developmental committee. He has also been a chair or co-chair of multiple hospital subcommittees since becoming a physician assistant. He currently is the chair of the UNC PA structured clinical practice experience and UNC liaison and council member of NC PA Veterans Initiative. The UNC School of Medicine inducted Hrdina into its Academy of Educators in 2020.
Jason is privileged to be joining the PA program faculty and educate the next generation of physician assistants at Carolina.
