Allison Philips has been a Physician Assistant since 2013 after graduating as a member of the charter class of the Campbell University PA Program. Allison has a passion for working with an underserved, rural health population and spent over 7 years working as a PA at the Harnett County Health Department.\u00a0 During her time at the health department, Allison helped to open the county\u2019s first Teen Clinic, focusing on increasing the number of patients ages 13-19 being seen for preventative care services. As a result of this work, she was awarded the GlaxoSmithKline Child Health Individual Recognition Award at the 2019 North Carolina Public Health Association Conference.\u00a0 <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In 2021, Allison joined the Breast Medical Oncology team at the North Carolina Basnight Cancer Hospital working alongside Dr. Lisa Carey. She also served as co-chair of the Care Communication Committee of the Lineberger Cancer Center Equity Council as she has an interest in improving health literacy.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In addition to her clinical work, Allison has helped to train physician assistant students throughout her career both as a clinical preceptor and adjunct faculty member. In 2022, she obtained a Master of Health Professions Education from Campbell University and is excited to be able to use this additional training as a faculty member of the UNC PA program.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n B.S.
