Specific Direct Referrals to Dr. Moll or Dr. Ma<\/h2>\n

The UNC Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center has two physicians whose names are easily confused on the phone,\u00a0 Dr. Moll and Dr. Ma.\u00a0 Always make sure both you and the appointment scheduler understands which physician, Dr. Moll or Dr. Ma,\u00a0 you are requesting to see in clinic.<\/p>\n

Eleven Reasons Why You Should KEEP YOUR FOLLOW-UP APPOINTMENT<\/h2>\n

  1. To reassess the need for long-term anticoagulation;<\/li>\n
  2. To receive information about relevant studies that have been published in the last year and of ongoing studies that may influence treatment or be of relevance for other family members;<\/li>\n
  3. To learn of ongoing studies that you may be eligible for and may want to enroll in;<\/li>\n
  4. To learn about new anticoagulant drugs that may have become available;<\/li>\n
  5. To discuss thrombophilia issues that may be relevant (family connections, parents, siblings) \u2013 the use of contraceptives, hormone replacement therapy;<\/li>\n
  6. To discover medical issues that you may not recognize;<\/li>\n
  7. To have an early intervention if you have developed post-thrombotic syndrome (assessment of need for compression stockings, vascular radiology intervention, home compression pump, etc);<\/li>\n
  8. To bring young female patients up-to date on state of the art anticoagulant management during pregnancy (identifying the right anticoagulant drug, right dose) and choice of birth control options;<\/li>\n
  9. To assess if you have a history of PE,\u00a0 chronic lung disease (pulmonary hypertension);<\/li>\n
  10. To become aware of regional and national thrombosis patient advocacy group activities;<\/li>\n
