William Whitehead, PhD., Co-director of the UNC Center for Functional GI & Motility Disorders and faculty member in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, was named a Master of the American College of Gastroenterology on October 16. This award is reserved for senior investigators who exhibit excellence in clinical research. He was 1 of 5 people to receive this award at the 2010 ACG Annual Scientific Meeting in San Antonio, TX and is the 1st non-physician to be so honored since the inception of the award.
