Dr. Amy Shaheen is Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine at UNC. She is currently the Medical Director of Population Health and Care Transformation Solutions in the UNC Health Care System, working with an interdisciplinary group to decrease care variation and improve patient outcomes. Dr. Shaheen has also worked in the School of Medicine to develop quality improvement and population health curriculum for medical students. Her work has led to integration of medical students in quality improvement projects across the health system. To date, Dr. Shaheen’s work has focused mainly on the ambulatory setting. Dr. Shaheen is a graduate of the University of Chicago Pritzker Medical School and Northwestern University, where she received her MSc in Health Care Quality and Safety.
