The UNC School of Medicine’s Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion proudly announces that the 2024 Carolina Second Look will be held in-person on Thursday, January 18th – Saturday, January 20th. This an opportunity for medical students that have completed interviews with UNC to visit the campus, meet face-to-face with program directors and current residents, and get a better feel for the area. This program encourages applications from individuals who come from backgrounds that have been historically excluded in the medical field.

The School of Medicine is committed to attracting a diverse pool of outstanding candidates with the hope of turning them into expertly trained faculty. We do this because we know that a diverse and inclusive work and learning environment helps foster appropriate care for patients.  This is essential to the fulfillment of our vision to improve the health of all North Carolinians.

Travel assistance stipends are awarded on a need basis.  Stipend applications will be available in November.

Please note that attendance or lack thereof will have no impact on the student’s position on the rank list.
