The UNC School of Medicine’s Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion proudly announces that the 2024 Carolina Second Look will be held in-person on Thursday, February 1st – Saturday, February 3rd. This an opportunity for medical students granted interviews with UNC Health to visit the campus and interact with current trainees, faculty and staff while getting a feel for the workspace and surrounding community. This program encourages applications from individuals who come from backgrounds that have been historically excluded in medicine.

UNC Health is committed to attracting a diverse pool of outstanding trainees to become expertly trained physicians to serve in community, academic and research settings. We do this because we know that a diverse and inclusive work and learning environment helps foster improved healthcare outcomes for patients. This is essential to the fulfillment of our mission to improve the health and well-being of all North Carolinians and others whom we serve.

Travel assistance stipends are awarded on a need basis. Stipend applications will be available after registration closes.

Please note that attendance or lack thereof will have no impact on the student’s position on the National Resident Matching Program rank list.
