Adrienne Albano

Adrienne is a Clinical Research Associate and has been with the IGHID since July 2011. She works on multiple ACTG studies. Working remotely from Okinawa, Japan.

Caroline Baker

BS, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill

Caroline is a research specialist and has been with IGHID since May 2016.  She has been with UNC’s Division of Infectious Diseases since 2013, previously working in the Garcia-Martinez lab.  Her job includes quality control of research records, creation of source documentation, and database maintenance.  She specifically assists with our Acute and Cure studies.

Katherine Barley

BA, Furman University

Katherine is the Clinical Research Screener and began working for the Institute for Global Health and Infectious Disesase in June 2016. Her responsibility is to connect patients seen in the clinic to research opportunities, serving as a liaison between the patient’s clinical provider and our research staff.

Paul Camarena

Paul is the Patient Care Coordinator and has been with the IGHID since June 2010. Paul’s duties include providing logistical support for patients in research studies; he manages the Health on Wheels program and assists with research billing.

Noshima Darden-Tabb

Noshima is a social worker who has ten years of experience in HIV. Her passion for prevention placed her with the ACTU in 2013. She is a counselor and qualitative interviewer on HPTN studies. In addition to working on protocols, Noshima also provides community education and outreach and assists with CAB-related duties.

Tracy EldredTracy Eldred

Tracy is a data coordinator and has been with the IGHID since September 2016. Her responsibilities include quality control of research records, responding to database queries, data entry and randomization of subjects. She specifically assists with our prevention studies: HPTN 085, 087, & 083.

Gabrielle Evans

Gabrielle is a research assistant who has been with the Institute for Global Health and Infectious Disease since July 2016. She assists coordinators with various studies, including HPTN 085 & 083.

Cheryl Hendrickson

BS, Penn State

Cheryl a regulatory coordinator and has been with the IGHID since November 2013. Cheryl provides regulatory support for global women’s health studies in Zambia and Malawi. She also assists on studies with UNC project China. Domestically, she works on pharmaceutical funded studies, iTech, and with the ID compromised host group.

Nazneen Howerton

BS, University of Oklahoma

Nazneen is a regulatory coordinator and has been with the IGHID since September 1998. Her research interests include HIV, autism and ulcerative colitis. Her job is to prepare and submit regulatory materials for all studies to the sponsor, CTRC, IRB and RCC. She does this for studies at UNC, as well as our associated sites at Regional Center for Infectious Disease, Wake County Health Department and sites in Malawi, Lusaka, Zambia, South Africa and China.

Javacia Swinson

Javacia is the Data Coordinator. Her responsibilities include quality control of research records, responding to database queries, and database maintenance. She has been with the IGHID since May 2012.

Catherine Kronk

Catherine is the data manager and has been with the IGHID since August 2008. Her job includes quality control and quality assurance of research records, creation of source documentation, and database maintenance.

Dania Munson

BA, University of Virginia

Dania is a regulatory coordinator and has been with the IGHID since January of 2008. Dania handles all IRB and Department of Corrections submissions, queries, and issues to ensure that studies are IRB and DOC approved. She works primarily with the Acute Infection and Prison groups.

Debbie Pettus

Debbie is a data coordinator and has been with the IGHID since October 2010. Her responsibilities include quality control of research records, responding to database queries, data entry and randomization of subjects. She specifically assists with our ACTG studies.

Francesca PrinceFrancesca Prince

Francesca is a research assistant for the CURE group and has been with us since September of 2016. She assists with PHI05, XTRA, VORVAX studies. She serves as coordinator for Single Blood Draw (CID 1107), Serial Blood Draw (IGHID 11409), CID 0819 (Positive Leukapheresis study), CID 0702 (negative Leukapheresis study).

Abigail Riddick

Abigail is a research assistant who began working for IGHID in January 2018. She currently assists with two of our prevention studies, HPTN 083 & HPTN 087. She also helps with our Serial Blood Draw studies. In addition, she helps facilitate community outreach events and assists with recruitment efforts.

Betelehem Shenbulo

BA, Portland State University

Betelehem is a Research Assistant and has been with IGHID since December 2017. She currently supports three studies, HPTN 083, HPTN 085 and DISCOVER. She previously worked in STD/HIV prevention focusing on testing and treatment, surveillance, partner services and education with the CDC in Atlanta, GA.

Brittney is a research assistant and has been with the IGHID since January 2017. She assists with a variety of studies, including but not limited to many of the ACTG studies, HPTN 085, HPTN 087, and a few of the industry-sponsored studies.

Hannah is a research assistant for the CURE group and joined us in July, 2018. Prior to joining our division, she worked for UNC hospital providing direct patient care.

Mandy is a Clinical Research Associate and has been with the IGHID since January 2013. She’s been with UNC’s Division of Infectious Diseases since February 2000, previously working for the Center for AIDS Research and, prior to that, in the Infectious Diseases Clinic at UNC Hospitals.
