Saturday, Aug. 27, marks the start of football season. Heavy traffic is expected on game days. If you are traveling to or from the School of Medicine or UNC Medical Center, please allow extra time and please take the time to review and share the below home game football parking procedures.

EMERGENCY PHYSICIAN PARKING:

The Lower Cancer Hospital lot is reserved for emergency physician parking during games. Gate access for the Lower Cancer Hospital lot is enabled on the provider’s hospital ID badge. The attendant will either park them in the designated parking spaces at the Emergency Department or direct them to the Lower Cancer Hospital parking lot to park.

A reminder that this parking is available to physicians and is ONLY for after-hours and weekends.

GRADUATE STUDENT PARKING

Graduate Student Parking is available to students working on experiments/academics on game days by contacting the Parking Coordinator in the respective graduate school, program/department. The department Parking Coordinator may request a permit for a graduate student via the Football Request Form. Event permits of this type are for academic business only and not for game parking.

FOR NON-EMERGENCY FOOTBALL PARKING:

Due to UNC Football game day operations, several lots on campus will be reserved for game day parking permits only.

These include Cardinal, Jackson, Bell Tower, and Craige Decks.

School of Medicine and UNC Health employees reporting to work should park in Dogwood Deck during home football game Saturdays.

The UNC Tar Heels will have home games on the Saturdays listed below:

  • Aug. 27, 8 p.m. – Florida A&M
  • Sept. 24, 3:30 p.m. – Notre Dame
  • Oct. 1, 3:30 p.m. – Virginia Tech
  • Oct. 29, 8 p.m. – Pittsburgh
  • Nov. 19, 5:30 p.m. – Georgia Tech
  • Nov. 25, 3:30 p.m. – NC State

One UNC Cards can be used to exit Dogwood Deck on these dates without being charged.
