Starting Tuesday, Nov. 1, the UNC Carolina Consultation Center (CCC) will no longer support consult requests. The CCC phone number will remain operational and re-route calls:

  • Consult requests for outpatient pediatrics will route to the UNC Med Telecomm (Hospital Operator) team.
  • Consult request for mutual patients (i.e., patients with an established relationship with both the referring clinician and the requested specialty) will route to the UNC Med Telecomm (Hospital Operator) team.
  • Inpatient transfer requests will route to the UNC Patient Logistics Center.

CareLink Access will allow clinicians to reach UNC specialists, as appropriate.* Please ensure any specialty service information is included on your patient-facing website (i.e., UNCHealth.org).

Note: UNC Health no longer offers phone-based consultations for adult services and pediatric Neurology.


What is UNC CareLink?

UNC CareLink is an online referral portal that works as an online extension of Epic@UNC’s electronic medical record. It enables referring clinicians and teammates to easily access patient information and follow the progress of care delivered at UNC Health Care.
