The Offices of Medical Student Education seeks a Director for the Transition to Residency (TTR) course in the Individualization Phase. The TTR Director will work with the existing director for the 2026 TTR experience March 30 – April 10, 2026 and then assume sole directorship role July 1, 2026. The TTR Director will oversee the curricular content, organization, assessments, and evaluations for TTR as well as partner with liaisons for specialty specific intensives. The Director is required to be available for both weeks in their entirety, one of which is virtual and the other is held in person. The Director must be committed to curriculum evaluation with the aim of continual quality improvement.
Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Outcomes: Develop, design, and implement course level objectives linked to the school’s educational objectives and competencies. Align course content with SOM objectives.
- Content and Assessment: Develop curricular content, methods of teaching and medical student assessment that are appropriate for achievement of the course and school’s educational objectives.
- Integration and Coordination: Partner with Curricular and Student Affairs to ensure content supports TEC 2.0 Learning Goals and Objectives and reflects required content for graduating medical students.
- Review and Improvement: Participate in regular review and revision of the course using multiple measures including national norms of accomplishment and student feedback under the auspices of the Individualization Phase committee and Education Committee.
- Supervision of Teaching: Work with the specialty groups to assure comparable curriculum per LCME guidelines.
- Administration: Ensure that SOM educational policies are being followed within the course
Candidates may come from any clinical department. The Director will receive 10% salary support up to an educational salary cap on an annual basis. Ideal candidates will be interviewed with a final selection being made by November with a start date very soon thereafter.
