Karina Whelan, MD, assistant professor of medicine, has been selected as the new CAP course director. Dr. Whelan brings extensive experience in undergraduate medical education, a deep understanding of the Application Phase curriculum, and a strong commitment to continuous course improvement and student success. She currently serves as Co-Director of Community-Based Primary Care (CBPC) and has been an active leader in curriculum review, assessment, and educational innovation.
Throughout the selection process, Dr. Whelan was recognized for her exceptional knowledge of the curriculum, thoughtful vision for the future of the CAP course, and collaborative approach to working with students, faculty, and staff. We are excited to welcome her to this role and look forward to her leadership as the CAP course continues to evolve and support student learning and readiness for residency.
