To meet our missions and ensure our continued success as a leading public academic health system, we launched ONE UNC Health, a multi-year transformation journey to unite UNC Health and the UNC School of Medicine by creating a shared culture and strategy, with our co-workers and patients at the center of all that we do.

NEW! Introducing the One UNC Health Playbook: An Individual, Online Experience

We received great feedback on the Connect’s team experience and conversation, and in follow-up, we are excited to launch the first ONE UNC Health Playbook. The Playbook is an individual online experience that offers every teammate the opportunity to learn more about how we are uniting together across UNC Health and the UNC School of Medicine and to share your feedback!

Our Unified Strategy

Based on ideas and feedback from leaders across UNC Health and the UNC School of Medicine, our updated strategy centers around the following objectives:

Our Unified Culture

We want to make UNC Health the best place to work and the best place to receive care. We must also ensure that our ONE UNC Health strategy and goals are tightly connected to our mission, values, and our organizational and strategic plan goals.

To accomplish this, we are focused on:

  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Health Equity
    Our systemwide efforts are governed by the System Executive DEI Council, which was established in June 2020 to ensure our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Health Equity efforts are integrated within our organizational strategy.
  • Shared System Values:
    To speak the same language and reward the desired behaviors, we developed a set of core values that are shared across UNC Health. While each entity may add on local values, our system values highlight the core behaviors we hope to see each day across our entire system.
