{"id":8196,"date":"2024-07-02T15:41:08","date_gmt":"2024-07-02T19:41:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/intranet\/?page_id=8196"},"modified":"2024-07-02T15:41:08","modified_gmt":"2024-07-02T19:41:08","slug":"pathways-program","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/intranet\/pathways-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Pathways Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>Purpose:<\/h4>\n<p>To prepare potential leaders for success by building a solid foundation in an environment where they feel connected, cared for, and have a strong cultural identity with the SOM.<\/p>\n<h4>About:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Monthly sessions, Onsite, 2nd Thursday of the month, 8-11am; Eight sessions, Sept-Apri<b>l<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li>8-8:30 Preview with Director, recap prior session &amp; set the tone for the day<\/li>\n<li>8:30-10:30 Development topic content, including: Self-Assessment (5 Dynamics, Relational Leadership); Leading a team, from peer to leader; Basic Academic Healthcare Finance, reporting; Storytelling; Bias in decisions, and in our three missions; Communication and Presentation Skills: Time Management and delegation; Quality Mindset and Process Improvement<\/li>\n<li>10:30-11 Debrief with a leader: how to apply concepts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>In addition:\n<ul>\n<li>Book review and team presentation to the group<\/li>\n<li>Throughout: at least three meetings with an assigned mentor<\/li>\n<li>Career Counseling session<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Application Process SOM-wide\/Criteria include:\n<ul>\n<li>Must be a full-time permanent employee of the School of Medicine, for at least one year<\/li>\n<li>Must have no more than one year in a leadership position managing others, if currently in a supervisory role<\/li>\n<li>Must regularly exceed expectations on performance reviews<\/li>\n<li>Must be a valuable team member with leadership potential<\/li>\n<li>Is likely to be actively engaged in group sessions, to add valuable perspective as a cohort member<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to attend eight monthly sessions onsite, with 100% attendance (8-11 am on 2nd Thursday, Sept &#8211; April)<\/li>\n<li>MUST HAVE APPLICATION ON FILE<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><i>Nomination period is typically open sometime from late April into late May<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Purpose: To prepare potential leaders for success by building a solid foundation in an environment where they feel connected, cared for, and have a strong cultural identity with the SOM.
