Kenya McNeal-Trice, MD, will step down from her roles as chief graduate medical education officer and ACGME designated institution official for UNC Hospitals as well as senior associate dean for graduate medical education in the UNC School of Medicine effective February 2023. She is looking forward to continuing her leadership within the UNC Department of Pediatrics as the vice chair of education, in addition to her statewide role as president of the North Carolina Pediatric Society.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

McNeal-Trice will remain in the role until February 2023, ensuring a smooth transition period while a search is underway for her successor.<\/p>\n

McNeal-Trice also will continue her national roles in medical education as a member of the Education and Training Committee for the American Board of Pediatrics and the ACGME Pediatric Residency Review Committee. She is also a member of the AAMC Steering Committee for the Group on Women in Medicine and Science, and Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee of the Academic Pediatric Association.<\/p>\n

As the Chief GME Officer, McNeal-Trice successfully led initiatives benefiting trainees, program coordinators, and program directors.\u00a0 She collaborated with UNC Hospitals leadership to expand the staffing and resources within the GME Office, revise the GME Leave Policy, and implement a confidential portal for reporting concerns in the clinical learning environment.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am a proud graduate of UNC Hospitals\u2019 GME programs,\u201d McNeal-Trice said.\u00a0 \u201cMy passion for education and advocacy has been nurtured by incredible mentors here at UNC who\u2019ve supported me throughout my career.\u00a0 It is a privilege to create programs that ensure the success and wellness of all our learners.
