Susan Evers, associate chair of administration for the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, will retire effective July 1, 2023.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Evers has a long history of distinguished service to the UNC-Chapel Hill community, first serving as a clinic manager for UNC Hospital Oral Medicine Service starting in 1989. Starting in 1995, she helped to build the newly created Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation as their inaugural associate chair for administration.<\/p>\n

In 2013, she joined the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, where she has served for the last decade. As ACA she has helped attend to clinical, research and teaching missions of her department and has served as a representative and advocate for her department in meetings with School of Medicine leadership.<\/p>\n

Evers has been honored at the national level for her work. In 2022, she received the Distinguished Service Award from the Association of Pathology Chairs.<\/p>\n

In addition to her leadership, Evers has been honored to mentor several rising administrators who have gone on to leadership roles in our system, and she is proud to have been a part of their journey.<\/p>\n
