Shenvi has been a dedicated member of the AOE since 2013 and has served on the AOE leadership council since its formation in 2018. During that time, she co-created and co-directed the year-long FLAGship faculty development program.<\/p>\n<p>Shenvi completed her undergraduate degree at Princeton University, received her Ph.D. in Chemical Biology from UC Berkeley, her MD from Yale Medical School, and her executive MBA from UNC Kenan Flagler Business School. She completed a residency in Emergency Medicine and a fellowship in Geriatric Emergency Medicine at UNC and has served on the UNC faculty since. Dr. Shenvi currently serves as co-director of the Case-Based Learning program for the medical school Foundation Phase. Previously she has held a number of educational roles at UNC and nationally, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Associate Residency Program Director for the UNC Emergency Department<\/li>\n<li>Director of the UNC Office of Academic Excellence<\/li>\n<li>President of the Association for Professional Women in Medical Sciences<\/li>\n<li>UNC School of Medicine college advisor<\/li>\n<li>Co-director of the national ACEP Teaching Fellowship, a faculty development program for Emergency Physicians<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Shenvi is succeeding Eric Zwemer, MD, who honorably led the organization as AOE President for the past two years and fostered significant growth and expansion. The AOE is grateful for Zwemer\u2019s hard work in growing and strengthening the organization and expanding its service to our branch campuses and new physician educators.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDr. Zwemer has done an outstanding job leading the AOE for the last two years. He has helped create a clear leadership structure, has integrated with the FALD office, and has helped expand our programming to include more educators from across the state. I am excited for the continued growth and innovation we can bring in the next two years. I am committed to the AOE\u2019s mission of creating a vibrant community of educators at UNC.
