\"\"Jonathan Oberlander, PhD, will step down from his role as chair of the Department of Social Medicine at the end of his second term in 2025.<\/p>\n

Jonathan has led the Department of Social Medicine since 2015, during which time the department\u2019s grant and research portfolio grew substantially as did its contributions to the medical school curriculum. In addition to his service to the department and the UNC School of Medicine, he also regularly supports community groups by sharing his knowledge of the complexities of health care, making access to care more understandable and accessible to the public.<\/p>\n
