This role develops and nurtures strategic relationships with UNC School of Medicine departments leaders and UNC Health quality leaders. They will mentor and teach clinical improvement science to IHQI program participants, IHQI Associate Director\/Faculty Improvement Coaches, and IHQI teammates.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"anchor-h3\">\n<h3 id=\"key-responsibilities\" class=\"headingSpacingAbove headingSpacingBelow lineHeight1_2\"><span class=\"fontSizeLarge\"><span dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"EN-US\"><u>Key Responsibilities<\/u>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul class=\"customListStyle\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"lineHeight1_2\"><span class=\"fontSizeLarge\"><span dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"EN-US\">Oversee Institute planning, operations, and evaluation including strategy, program design, budget, human resources, and communication.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"lineHeight1_2\"><span class=\"fontSizeLarge\"><span dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"EN-US\">Oversee and guide IHQI Associate Director\/Faculty Improvement Coaches in their roles to evaluate Improvement Scholars\u2019 and Fellows\u2019 professional development needs and coach and guide scholars to develop leadership capacity to lead clinical improvement.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"lineHeight1_2\"><span class=\"fontSizeLarge\"><span dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"EN-US\">Participate in and teach at Improvement Scholars\u2019 learning sessions, PEQS and CLQS.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"lineHeight1_2\"><span class=\"fontSizeLarge\"><span dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"EN-US\">Host annual IHQI Improvement Scholars Symposium.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"lineHeight1_2\"><span class=\"fontSizeLarge\"><span dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"EN-US\">Working closely with IHQI quality leaders, lead monthly program planning and evaluation meetings with Associate Directors\/Faculty Coaches and IHQI teammates.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"lineHeight1_2\"><span class=\"fontSizeLarge\"><span dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"EN-US\">Serve as member of Quality governance committees.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"lineHeight1_2\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/intranet\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/578\/2025\/08\/IHQI-Medical-Director-Position-Description_Aug-2025.pdf\"><span class=\"fontSizeLarge\"><span dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"EN-US\"><u>Review the full job description here<\/u><\/span><\/span><\/a><span class=\"fontSizeLarge\"><span dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"EN-US\">.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"lineHeight1_2\"><span class=\"fontSizeLarge\"><span dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"EN-US\">Department leaders may share names of well-suited candidates\u00a0<\/span><\/span><a href=\"mailto:kathryn.pier@unchealth.unc.edu\"><span class=\"fontSizeLarge\"><span dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"EN-US\"><u>via email with Kathryn Pier<\/u><\/span><\/span><\/a><span class=\"fontSizeLarge\"><span dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0(<\/span><\/span><a href=\"mailto:kathryn.pier@unchealth.unc.edu\"><span class=\"fontSizeLarge\"><span dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"EN-US\"><u>kathryn.pier@unchealth.unc.edu<\/u><\/span><\/span><\/a><span class=\"fontSizeLarge\"><span dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"EN-US\">).
