These awards are designed to leverage UNC\u2019s strong <em>culture of collaboration<\/em> by fostering new interdisciplinary teams that bridge basic science and clinical research.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u2019s the goal?<\/strong><br \/>\nTTSA supports early-stage, <em>de novo<\/em> research teams working across disciplines to develop innovative projects that can ultimately lead to program project grants and multiple PI R01s. Projects are not limited to human subjects\u2014cellular and animal model systems are welcome\u2014provided they translate across basic and clinical domains.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Award Structure:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Phase I Feasibility Grants<\/strong>: 12-month planning period to build team synergy and prepare a competitive Phase II proposal.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Phase II Awards<\/strong>: Additional 12 months for teams demonstrating strong progress and merit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Deadline:<\/strong><br \/>\nSubmit your proposals by <strong>January 30, 2025<\/strong>.<br \/>\nFor full program details and submission guidelines, please review the latest <strong>TTSA RFP [<\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/oor\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/580\/2025\/11\/2025-_TTSA-RFP.pdf\">2025-_TTSA-RFP.pdf<\/a>]<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The UNC School of Medicine is excited to announce the upcoming funding opportunity for Translational Team Science Awards (TTSA), a key initiative of the SOM Strategic Plan.
