Harvey\u2019s career in academic human resources began as an undergraduate at Appalachian State University, where he worked in the Provost\u2019s Office assisting with faculty contracts.<\/p>\n
Over the years, Harvey contributed to several universities across North Carolina, including UNC Greensboro, Wake Forest University, and NCSU\u2019s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. He was also an original member of the \u201cChange Agent States Project,\u201d an 18-state consortium aimed at promoting diversity and inclusion within land-grant institutions.<\/p>\n
With decades of experience and advocacy, Harvey became an essential part of the School of Medicine\u2019s leadership team, serving as the primary authority on personnel matters. He built strong partnerships with organizations like UNC Health, the university community, and the statewide AHEC network.<\/p>\n
We are grateful to Harvey for his wisdom, dedication, and commitment to advancing human resources and supporting both faculty and staff. His influence has helped foster a collaborative and inclusive culture that will have an enduring impact on the school.<\/p>\n
Sharing a personal note, Harvey said, \u201cWhen I was born, my family lived in a two-bedroom millhouse in Saxapahaw, and I was the first in my family to attend college. I\u2019m immensely grateful to so many people who helped and encouraged me in my career.\u201d<\/p>\n
