{"id":9885,"date":"2026-02-27T10:20:33","date_gmt":"2026-02-27T15:20:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/intranet\/?p=9885"},"modified":"2026-02-27T10:20:33","modified_gmt":"2026-02-27T15:20:33","slug":"apply-for-the-leadership-starts-with-me-visiting-professorship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/intranet\/2026\/02\/apply-for-the-leadership-starts-with-me-visiting-professorship\/","title":{"rendered":"Apply for the \u201cLeadership Starts With Me\u201d Visiting Professorship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Departments across the UNC School of Medicine are invited to apply for the <strong>Leadership Starts With Me Visiting Professorship<\/strong>, an initiative led by the Office of Faculty Affairs and Leadership Development (FALD) to strengthen faculty leadership capacity, foster cross-department collaboration, and support professional growth across the institution.<\/p>\n<p>This program provides departments with the opportunity to host a distinguished visiting professor whose expertise aligns with departmental leadership development goals, educational priorities, or emerging areas of academic innovation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Program Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The selected department will receive:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A customized faculty development experience tailored to departmental priorities<\/li>\n<li>Up to $5,000 in support of honorarium, travel, and related event expenses<\/li>\n<li>Administrative support for event promotion, registration coordination, and event logistics<\/li>\n<li>Opportunities to engage faculty and trainees across departments and disciplines<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eligibility and Selection Considerations<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All UNC School of Medicine departments are eligible to apply, with the exception of the prior year\u2019s recipient.
