Chris Schifeling, MS3
(1) Human sacrifices,
struck by stochastic gods,
their pathologic peculiarities, a puzzle
(2) seducing science’s metallic scrutiny
which pried their pain for pearls
to line its Sisyphean necklace of knowledge
(3) that I’m cramming in
my brain’s seam-split pockets.
(4) To please the serial sphinx
I hold up these jewels
(5) but now passed the test, they spill
forsaken cross the floor.
