2019 Space Upgrades

Classroom and Conference Room Upgrades

School of Medicine IT is in the process of upgrading classrooms throughout the school as part of a project to modernize room technologies, create more uniform systems across rooms, and improve ease of use for the presenters.

Some of the improved teaching technologies may include:

• Enhanced conference and collaboration tools
• Wireless video connectivity to room displays
• Higher quality audio systems
• High definition displays
• Digital whiteboarding

Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Conference Room Conversion

Beginning in May, several conference room spaces will be upgraded and converted to BYOD. This means that the kiosk computers will no longer be provided in these spaces, and users will need to bring their own laptop or device to connect to the A/V equipment.

To enable the most compatibility, users will have multiple options to connect in these spaces:

• HDMI Cable with an adapter ring, compatible with most common connectors (Mini-Display Port, USB-C, Lightning)
• A wireless presentation device to connect to the display over eduroam WiFi

Computers will not be available for loan in the spaces, so please ensure that someone in attendance at events in these spaces has a device to use.
