(<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Note<\/span>: Most printers for the Department of Medicine are located on <strong>\\\\somprint3<\/strong>, but if you do not see the printer you are trying to connect to, enter <strong>\\\\somprint2<\/strong> instead.)<\/p>\n<p>Windows 7 address bar:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"somoverlay image-inline\" src=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/medicine\/files\/2019\/01\/Address-Bar.png\" alt=\"Windows 7 Address Bar\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Windows 10 address bar:<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"image-inline\" src=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/medicine\/files\/2019\/01\/somprint3.png\" width=\"599\" height=\"309\" alt=\"Windows 10 address bar\"\/><\/p>\n<h2>Step 3<\/h2>\n<p>Look through the list of printers for the appropriate one(s) for your division and location. Dept. of Medicine printers all start with <strong>DOM_<em>division<\/em>_<\/strong> and follow a standard naming convention: <strong>DOM_<em>division<\/em>_<em>room#bldg<\/em>_<em>printermodel<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In the picture below, the selected printer is a Nephrology printer, located in room 6006 of Burnett-Womack.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"somoverlay image-inline\" src=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/medicine\/files\/2019\/01\/6006BW.png\" alt=\"somprint2 window\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Step 4<\/h2>\n<p>When you find the printer you want to connect to, right-click on it and choose <strong>Connect<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"image-inline\" src=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/medicine\/files\/2019\/01\/connect.png\" alt=\"Connecting to a printer\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Step 5<\/h2>\n<p>The following window will pop up:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"somoverlay image-inline\" src=\"https:\/\/med.unc.edu\/medicine\/files\/2019\/01\/connecting.png\" alt=\"connecting\" \/><br \/>\nWait until the progress window disappears, then look in your Printers and Faxes window- you should now see a connection to the printer. Repeat as needed to connect to any printers you need access to.
