This tool was derived (<em>n<\/em>=1282, 19 emergency department sites) and validated (<em>n<\/em>=282, 11 separate emergency department sites) using data obtained from adults prospectively enrolled in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/itr\/aurora-study\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Advancing Understanding of RecOvery afteR traumA (AURORA) Study<\/a>. Persistent posttraumatic stress was defined as PTSD Checklist for DSM-5 scores \u2265 38.
