DESCRIPTION:APPLICATIONS ARE NOW BEING ACCEPTED. The Vertex CF Research Innovation Awards (CF RIA) support and inspire the next generation of researchers who are advancing the understanding of cystic fibrosis (CF). Awards are chosen by an independent steering committee and applications will be accepted from candidates in the US\, Canada\, Austria\, Belgium\, Denmark\, France\, Germany\, Greece\, Italy\, Ireland\, Netherlands\, Norway\, Portugal\, Spain\, Sweden\, Switzerland\, UK\, and Israel. \nApplications are now being accepted for the Cystic Fibrosis Research Innovation Award\, as follows: \nINDEPENDENT RESEARCH INNOVATION AWARD \nUp to 2 grants of $750\,000 are available to newly independent researchers conducting an\nindependent research program over 3 years \nMENTORED RESEARCH INNOVATION AWARD \nUp to 4 grants of $125\,000 are available to junior investigators conducting\na 2-year mentored research project \nDeadline for applications is January 8\, 2018. \nMore information about this event…

SUMMARY:Free Drop-In Photo Session for Faculty and APPs
DESCRIPTION:A free drop-in photography session for UNC School of Medicine faculty members and UNC Health Care advanced practice providers (AuDs\, CRNAs\, CNMs\, CNSs\, CPPs\, LCSWs\, NPs\, OTs\, PTs\, PAs and SLPs) will be offered on Dec. 8th. Non-faculty advanced practice providers must provide direct\, clinical patient care in the outpatient setting in order to be photographed. \nAll UNC School of Medicine faculty members are welcome to attend. \nPlease note the hours for this session have been altered from previous sessions to accommodate provider schedules. Providers can now have their photo taken before clinic starts and during the lunch hour. \nThese portrait photos can be used for websites\, directories\, news releases\, publications\, and any other purpose that requires a portrait shot. Photographs will also be returned to the faculty member or advanced practice provider. There is no charge to be photographed\, and no appointment is necessary. \nDirections to N.C. Women’s Hospital Conference Room 4: Enter N.C. Women’s Hospital\, go down the hallway past the information desk\, turn right at the intersecting hallway\, and the conference room is the second door on the right.
