First Generation Medical Students<\/h2>\n

\"\"The Curricular Pathways team is excited to support the First Gen Fellows Program, led by Dr. Tiffany Long and Isabelle Keim. This university-funded organization is a 4-year program providing resources, professional development, community service opportunities, and community for students to navigate and excel at the UNC School of Medicine. At the program\u2019s culmination, participants will receive special recognition on their residency application, at graduation, and at our end-of-year banquet. We host workshops and mentoring sessions throughout the year that address challenges faced by medical students and provide social and volunteer opportunities to meet fellow students. We also have an extensive network and mentorship program that includes pre-medical students, medical students, and physicians.<\/p>\n

If you are a current medical student who identifies as first-generation (defined as the first in the family to graduate with a college degree) and are interested in joining our program, please email Isabelle Keim isabelle_keim@med.unc.edu<\/a> to be added to our Canvas page for more information.<\/p>\n
