Learning Objectives:
1. Expose medical students to a career in Cardiothoracic Surgery
2. Basic understanding acute ICU care
3. Fundamentals of Cardiothoracic Surgery
Learning Activities:
Active participant in all activities of the service.
Weekly scheduled conferences and rounds
Rounds, clinics and ORs each day
Expected hours: 6:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (approx.)
No on-call requirements
STUDENTS: These rotations are all available through the Surgery Clerkship
Evaluation: All 2-week career exploration electives are pass fail. Attendance and participation are required to pass. A presentation may be assigned.
