Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiology (AHFTC) fellows train side-by-side with faculty physicians dedicated to the constant improvement of patient care, which often results in important research projects geared to improve clinical outcomes. In 2013, the physicians of the AHFTC Fellowship program partnered with cardiac nurses to achieve a zero percent thirty-day readmission rate for heart failure and arrhythmia in patients who had received a VAD.
