After completing George Washington University with a degree in Anthropology, Akshay worked for a year in DC as a research coordinator with the SPRRINT and other clinical trials.
He then obtained an M.S. degree in physiology at Cincinnati while working as a student researcher involved in studying checkpoint inhibitor therapy and the tumor microenvironment. Akshay continued with his interest in clinical research, and served as the co-president of the Medical Research Student Association at the University of Arizona where he will obtain his medical degree with a Distinction in Research.
Akshay enjoys mentoring, travel, fitness, and soccer.
