Education, Springfield College, 1972: Ph.D. Pharmacology, College of Medicine, University of South Florida 1979; Research Associate, Department of Respiratory Diseases, Saint Vincent Hospital, MA; Assistant Research Group Chief, Department of Pharmacology, Allergic Diseases , Hoffmann-La Roche, 1980; Group Head, Pulmonary Pharmacology, Ciba-Geigy, Switzerland 1985; Senior Clinical Program Head, Respiratory Clinical Development, Glaxo, Research Triangle Park, NC, 1989; World-Wide Director Applied Genetics – Respiratory Diseases, GlaxoSmithKline, Research Triangle Park, NC, 1998; Research Associate, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Department of Medicine, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC, 2012; Adjunct Associate Professor, School of Pharmacy, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC, 2014.

Dr. Anderson’s research interests include utilizing translational, genetic, epigenetic and biomarker approaches towards understanding the molecular basis of respiratory diseases, and defining complex disease phenotypes. Current work is directed towards chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).
