Research Interests

My overarching long-term research goal is to provide the field with fundamental knowledge about HIV transmission, pathogenesis and persistence that will result in novel effective approaches to reduce the incidence of HIV. My research is currently focused on three important aspects of HIV infection transmission, prevention, and persistence. In addition, I have developed a novel and innovative humanized mouse model to evaluate the role of human microbiota in all aspects of HIV infection.
