Asantewaa grew up in a small city in South Carolina, called Sumter, and her pediatrician inspired her to pursue medicine at a very young age. She attended Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC, and went on to obtain her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. Her parents are from Ghana, West Africa, and she loves exploring her family’s culture through food and music. She also enjoys musical theatre and various forms of Latin dance. She feels blessed to be the first physician in her family and aims to help improve healthcare in Ghana. She is interested in pursuing a specialty in endocrinology.
