Ben majored in both biology and history at the George Washington University, working in a lab during his last year to investigate water pollution in the Anacostia River in DC.

After graduation, Ben joined the FDA and worked for two years as a fellow working to develop an Ebola vaccine. As a medical student, Ben has continued his involvement in multiple research projects involving clinical care and nutritional recovery for patients in the ICU as well as a public health project to evaluate barriers to syringe exchange in Vermont. Ben enjoys traveling, gardening, music, outdoor activities, snowboarding, and discovering new teas.

Ben’s significant other, Cole, will be starting her Pediatric residency at Duke and they are looking forward to moving to North Carolina together.
