External and Internal Communications

Bradd manages Marketing and External/Internal Communications for the UNC School of Medicine’s Thurston Arthritis Research Center, and for the UNC Division of Rheumatology, Allergy and Immunology.

His primary responsibilities include strategic communications planning, media relations, website content, social media, feature article writing, newsletter development, brochures and collateral.

Bradd has a BA in journalism with minors in English and psychology. He is nationally accredited by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), for which he was a board member of the Carolinas Chapter for three years. He has also served on the advisory boards for the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce and a number of non-profit organizations.

Prior to joining UNC, Bradd was a Communications Manager at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), where he managed activities including FDA drug approvals, new product launches, media relations, crisis communications, issues management, national patient awareness campaigns, website content, and social media. Prior to GSK he managed the healthcare practices and client needs for two national PR agencies; including Brodeur Porter Novelli and G&S Business Communications.

Bradd is an avid photographer and has been a community volunteer with the Wake Literacy Council, Habitat for Humanity, Stephen Ministry, and several senior-related volunteer groups.
