Personal Statement

I am a gastrointestinal medical oncologist and clinical investigator.  My research is focused on refining treatment selection for patients with gastrointestinal cancers through a number of clinical trials.  I am particularly interested in the neoadjuvant treatment of rectal adenocarcinomas with a translational research project designed to try and identify genomic alterations predictive of response or lack of response to neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy by next generation whole exome sequencing including somatic mutations, copy number variations, gene fusions, and other gene expression alterations.
