Personal Statement

I have an abiding interest in patient care.  I have been taking care of patients at UNC for almost 20 years and my clinical focus has been on breast cancer. My research focuses on the design of patient-oriented clinical trials that bring novel therapeutics, new drug or new drug combinations to breast cancer patients and other patients with advanced cancer.  I have served as the principal investigator for many national trials and have published over 75 papers. My hope is that clinical trials of new treatments will help improve her patients’ lives.
