About
Conny graduated from Amherst with degrees in Mathematics and Political Science. She was then selected for a competitive AmeriCorps Massachusetts Promise Fellowship and worked in Boston to train high school peer educators on positive mental health and suicide awareness and prevention and adapted a curriculum to train peer educators to lead workshops on nutrition and healthy lifestyles. Conny later worked as a research assistant with Brigham and Women’s Hospital as part of the PROSPECT study and later as a project manager for the STRIDE study.
Conny has dedicated her time as a medical student to volunteer work and advocacy – working with the Refugee Community Partnership, serving as co-president for the UNC Physicians for Human Rights Chapter, volunteering as a peer counselor for patients in the UNC Burn Center, and stepping up as a founding member of the UNC chapter of students for a National Health Program.
