About
After graduating from UNC with a degree in biology, Duncan worked as a research assistant at the Medical College of Georgia to study the mechanics of swallowing in patients with dysphagia. Originally from Asheville, Duncan was accepted into a program at UNC that allowed him to complete longitudinal clerkships at the UNC Asheville campus.
Duncan has demonstrated his dedication to service before and throughout medical school – as a triage team member of the student clinic, working as a CNA and HIV counselor for the Samaritan Health Center, and working with UNC campus ministries to coordinate local community service organizations, homeless shelters, and school systems as opportunities for fellow college students.
Duncan enjoys spending time outdoors, basketball, and college athletics (especially the Duke-UNC basketball games!).
