Critical Care Medicine

Emily was born and raised in the Houston suburb of Conroe, TX, and describes herself as a Texan through and through. She graduated from Rice University, where she studied ecology/evolutionary biology, biochemistry and sociology, and also met her husband Mason. Emily and Mason then attended Texas A&M College of Medicine together–where Emily was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society–and together they are joining the internal medicine residency program at UNC. In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors as much as possible, and loves distance running, swimming, and cycling. Sometimes she even combines them to participate in triathlons. Other hobbies include cooking, baking, hammocking, and hiking. Emily says she is extremely excited to further her medical education at UNC and explore the outdoors in North Carolina. She is considering critical care medicine.
