Ian was born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia. From there he moved to Chapel Hill where he majored in economics at UNC. He then completed a master’s degree in immunology at UNC Charlotte before attending medical school at Virginia Tech Carilion. He is excited to be back in Chapel Hill for residency, this time with his wife Bria, their dog (Clayton) and cat (Gerard). In his life outside of medicine, Ian is a washed-up ice hockey player and a never-was track and field athlete.
